Rialto Bridge - one of the most N=Beautiful Bridges of the World

1. Ponte di Rialto (Venice, Italy)

Venice's Rialto Bridge, built in the 16th century, is the oldest bridge still in use over the Grand Canal. The bridge itself has many stairs and features three walkways – a wide central and smaller walkways on either outer balustrades. It is home to mask makers, glass sellers and even famers markets with local specialties such as cherries and red chicory – and of course white peaches to make the perfect Bellini!

2.Charles Bridge (Prague, Czech Republic)

The Charles Bridge, which was completed in the early 1400s, is a historic bridge that crosses the Vltava river in Prague, Czech Republic. Built entirely of stone, the bridge nearly stretches 1,700 feet and is decorated with dozens of statues on both sides.

3. Brooklyn Bridge (New York City, U.S.A.)

New York's iconic Brooklyn Bridge, completed in 1883, is a symbol of New York, and spans the East River between Manhattan and Brooklyn. It was first named the New York and Brooklyn Bridge and then the East River Bridge – yet it was not until 1915that it was officially named the Brooklyn Bridge. The first bridge to use steel for cable wire, it is a favourite with photographs – and looks spectacular in black and white. Oh – and look up – Peregrine Falcons have been known to nest atop the bridge structures.

4. The Pont Alexandre III Bridge (Paris, France)

Is this the most elegant and extravagant bridge in the world? Spanning the Seine in Paris, it is heavily decorated in Art Nouveau lamps. With a foundation stone laid in 1896, the bridge is watched over by four impressive gilt-bronze winged Pegasus, and decorated with playful cherubs and beguiling nymphs. It featured in the video clip for The Moody Blue’s 1967 hit “Nights in White Satin” as do a number of other well-known Parisian landmarks.

Khaju Bridge (Isfahan, Iran)

Also known si-o-seh pol, this wonderful golden structure is more than a bridge. Built in 1650, it acts as a dam that controls the flow of the Zayandeh River plus a public meeting place! Evidence of ancient tiles and paintings are visible. The ice cream shop at the northern end help create sweet memories. In the evenings, locals meet and sing under the arches, but keep an eye out for the marble lions guarding either end of the bridge - legend has it that their eyes glow in the dark, When he river is full, the sunsets are magical!

Minnewater Bridge (Bruges, Belgium)

In the Venice of the North is the tranquil, picturesque medieval canal town of Bruges, in West Flanders. Legend has it that if you stroll over the Minnewater Bridge and kiss your loved one, you are destined for eternal love. Built in 1740, this has to be one of the most romantic bridges around. With white swans swimming on Lovers Lake under the three gentle arches of the bridge, this is a rule romantic setting - but wait till the sun goes down and the lights punctuate the cobblestone laneways of this UNESCO World Heritage city.

Tower Bridge (London, England)

Opened in 1994, iconic Tower Bridge in London is one of the best known crossing of the River Thames. A classic drawbridge, it’s bascules can be raised to an angle of 86 degrees to let taller ships pass underneath.
